Vinokurova O.M. The state of lipid metabolism indices and their prognostic significance in patients with acute viral hepatitis B and its relapses. Manuscript.  Dissertation for the degree of candidate of medical sciences in the specialty 14.01.13. – infectious diseases. – L.V.Gromashevsky Institute of Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases, Kyiv, 2001.

The thesis represents the results of clinical biochemical investigations of 182 patients with viral hepatitis B. The particularities of HBV clinical picture and dynamics of biochemical index changes depending on the severity of the disease were revealed and epidemiological aspects of HBV-infection were considered. The investigation of lipid metabolism state in patients with HBV showed an increasing level of free fatty acids (saturated and monoenic), general lipids, b-lipoproteins, triglycerols, cholesterol contents and prostaglandin activity and a decrease in polyunsaturated fatty acids and 6-keto-PgF1a/ТхВ2 ratio down to 2.17 in blood serum during the acute state of the disease. On the basis of the inverstigation of lipid metabolism, prognosis for significant criteria of decreasing of С10, С17, С18, С18:1, С18:3, С20:3, PgF1a, PgI2, contents, and increasing of PgЕand decreasing PgЕ1 in possible HBV infection relapses was worked out. The dependence of the severity of lipid metabolism disturbance on the clinical course and was proved. The correlational links between lipid metabolism indices and HBV clinico-pathogenetic chains were studied. The properties of a medicine Erbisol and Galstena were proved by the data of lipid metabolism indices (Pg, FA).

Key words: viral hepatitis B, lipid metabolism, relapse, prognostic criteria.
